Road Trip to Romania

A project is underway to provide a vehicle, funding for a teacher and much needed clothing and equipment for the children at the Stand by me residential home and day care centre in Dobrun, Romania Stand by me are a mission based charity in Hornchurch who rescue kids in crisis in a number of countries around the world including Ethiopia, Kenya, Burma, Colombia & Romania. They currently care for around 3500 children worldwide. The House of Hope residential centre in Dobrun is home to 10 girls who were rescued as babies from state orphanages and have now reached 12-13 years of age. In the adjacent Denisa day care centre Stand by me also care for a further 50-60 children who turn up every day for a meal and education. The project target figure is £7000 to help these children and this is where we need your support and generosity.

In the short term we need to raise £2500 to enable us to take the school uniforms etc. with us. The vehicle is already fully funded so all money donated will be for essential clothing, school uniforms, shoes, boots and other items.

Graham Jackson, Steve Hoggart and Bob Edwards will be making the trip to Romania on March 20th to deliver the vehicle & clothing, spend some time with the children, and will be joined in Dobrun by other people from the Church.
